Day 2

Look how domesticated we've become!

Year Six Reflections After Day 2

Keely -Earlier today, we went down to the beach.  We saw a robin who followed us all of the way down to our picnic.  I named him "Robbie".  He even sat on Mandeep's foot!
Emma - Yesterday, when we were doing orienteering, Kyle helped me across the ice but he let go and I slipped on the ice.  (Kyle how could you?!)
William - This afternoon, we went kayaking.  I thought it was quite funny when Humdaan fell out of the boat and when Alastair put people in the water "nicely".
Kyle M - Today when we were kayaking I think I did very well, considering I'd never been kayaking before.
Mandeep - Yesterday, we had a great time in the forest as we were doing orienteering and had to find coloured cards/flags and stamp them on our sheets.
Kyle B - Earlier today, we went to the beach and climbed the rocks.  I got all the way up one and there was only one way down - I had to slide on my bum!
Miss Lawler - My favourite part of the week so far was getting my case back. Apart from that it was seeing how brave my group were when they climbed up a rope.  I was pleased to have some peace at the bottom when some of the boys had gone up, as I didn't have to put up with any chicken related jokes.
Mr Kates - I am very proud of all of my group because they have participated in each activity and have given it their all!
Shreya - I thought it was quite funny when we were climbing the mountain yesterday.  There was a big patch of mud. Khushi had lost her shoe and was walking around - she hadn't noticed that she'd left her shoe behind.
Khushi - Yesterday, when we went to the mountain, there was a big heap of snow - it was very deep.  I thought I would be buried alive!
Ethan Bl - Yesterday, when we were climbing up the mountain and we went inside the mine, Jack fell down on every floor and all the way back.  He was slipping all over the place!
Mcorley - On the way down from the mountain, there was a massive slope.  I slid all the way down to the bottom of the hill.  It was pure mud.
Danny - My favourite moment so far at DYM was when we were playing in the snow at the top of the mountain and Jayden was lying at the bottom of the hill and Mcorley and I came along and threw snow straight in his ears and he couldn't hear a single thing and was screaming his head of!
Jayden - I was really shocked because I actually climbed up a mountain for the first time with no injuries.
Daizy - When we climbed down the mountain, I fell over multiple times, including one time where I came across a rock which was really slippy. I slipped right over it and almost toppled off the edge! Fortunately I survived! (Phew)
Humdaan - This morning, when we went on the beach my shoes got stuck in the sand.  It was like quick sand!
Gemma - I have really been enjoying all of the activities I've been doing. Everybody has tried really hard and we are proud of them.
Rheo - On the mountain today, I achieved being able to go up and down a mountain.  It's not that easy so I'm feeling happy that I made it - we had great fun.
Libby - One of my favourite times at DYM was when we came out of the mine and we had a massive snowball fight.
Isra - Yesterday, I enjoyed it when we did the night line and Owen (from Coundon) got lost.
Jack - Today, when we went kayaking, Miss Szyndler got pushed into the lake by all of the children and on the way we had to climb a cargo net. I lost my shoe in a pond!
Sahill - As we were going down the mountain, I was going down, Kifayat fell, he had to save himself, so he grabbed me and we both went flying.  I landed on my bottom!
Laurel - I really liked it when we were in the mine and I fell down some steps head first.  It was funny and fortunately I was not close to any drops.
Whitney - My favourite part of today was when we went mountain climbing and when we came down the mountain we had to slide on the ice on our bottoms. It was like an ice slide.
Euan - My favourite part of today was when we were walking down the mountain and we crossed the river and Tyler was walking and fell face down in the water!
Tyler - My favourite part has been when we had to find ur way back through a forest and Euan and Mandeep kept on slipping over on the ice.
Kifayat - My favourite part of DYM was when we went into the forest and we had to find markers dotted around the forest by navigating on a map. I was really proud of myself when we found our way through the forest, even though we took the wrong turn  - twice - and somehow ended up at a railway track.  We had to run back to find the right way!
Ethan Be - Yesterday night, we went to do the night line and half way through the activity there was a rock - except it wasn't a rock it was a helmet.  The helmet then started giggling.  I was in fact miss Lawler.
Duncan - Last night on the night line, the sixth former at the front stepped on a teacher's foot.  The teacher roared! Everyone in our group screamed - it was hilarious!
Eve - Last night on the night line, the group in front of us, mistook a Coundon teacher for a tree stump and he kept on kicking it!!!!
Miss Szyndler - I have been really impressed with the way everyone has pushed themselves and tried new things this week.  Everyone has worked really well together!
Commando Joey - I was absolutely appalled when Jayden dropped me in a pond and I got soaking wet.
